Ingredients
114g 5% beef mince
1⁄2 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp American mustard
2 pickled gherkin slices
2 lighter American cheese slices
1 seeded burger bun
1⁄8 onion
rapeseed oil spray
salt
pepper
Preparation
Form the burger patty
Roll the mince into a large ball before flattening to form a thick burger patty slightly wider than the bun.
Prepare the accompaniments
Thinly slice the onion.
Toast the bun
Toast the bun in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat until golden brown.
Cook the burger patty
In the same pan at medium-high heat, spritz with oil, and add in the beef patty. Season with salt and pepper and leave to cook on one side for 3 mins before flipping and repeating. Once cooked to your liking turn off the heat and leave to rest for 2-3 mins.
Plate
Top the bottom bun with a slice of cheese, followed by the burger patty, the second slice of cheese, mustard, ketchup, sliced onion, and pickles before finally crowning the burger and serving.
Tip – Pair this burger with any sauce and salad to spice things up a bit.
